New Baroque

Composers David WIliams, Michael DeMaio, and Maestro Robert W. Butts present their latest compositions.

Artists performing in the concert include flutist Patricia Lazzara, pianists Dave Malyszko and Nan Childress Orchard, violinists Emily James and Sara D’Sa, violist Martin Gelfond, and cellist Peter Howard.

The concert will feature:

Five Rhapsodies for Flute and Piano – Robert W. Butts (flute, piano)

In Plain Sight – David Williams (piano, violin, cello)

Wave – David Willaims (flute)

At Long Last – Michael DeMaio (string quartet)

Selections from “Full Circle” – Michael DeMaio (ensemble)

Maestro Butts serves as Conductor and Artistic Director for The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey. His compositions have recently been premiered in Paris, London, Venice, and Padua as well as in the United States. He was named 2019 Artist of the Year by The New York Classical Music Society.

Michael DeMaio is a musician and educator. He is a graduate of William Paterson University (B.A. Music) and Montclair State University (M.A. Music Theory and Composition). Michaelโ€™s music is eclectic in nature as enjoys composing in many genres and styles. His music has been heard in Norway, Portugal and throughout the United States and Canada.

David Williams is an American composer whose primary focus has been to write the music that he, himself, would like to hear written. He does this with brave melodies, repeated motifs and contrasting juxtapositions – these are the things from which his music is made.
